Three months ago, Santos could walk 2 miles in 40 minutes. Today he can walk 2 miles in 25 minutes. Find the percent of change and round to the nearest whole percent.

2 miles out of 40 minutes or 2/40 is .05

2 miles out of 25 minutes or 2/25 is .08

so he increased by .03 miles per minute

(2)/(40)

= 0.05 miles per minute

Walking speed of Santos today =
(2)/(25)

= 0.08 miles per minute

Change in speed = 0.08 - 0.05

(0.03)/(0.05)* 100

= 60%

Therefore, percent of increase in the speed will be 60%
