The perimeter of a figure is the distance around it. The given figure is a parallelogram. The opposite sides of the parallelogram are equal.

Thus, the length of the sides are 8, 8, 6 and 6. Thus,

Perimeter = 8 + 8 + 6 + 6 = 28 inches

The formula for determining the area of a parallelogram is expressed as

Area = base * height

base = 8

height = 4 1/5

Area = 8 * 4.2

Area = 33.6 in^2
