the answer is -2
3y=-2x+2
y=x+4
when x=-2, 3 (-2)=6=-2(-2)+2=6 (3y=-2x+2 vrified)
when x=-2 2=-2+4=2 (y=x+4 verified)

Answer:

The x-coordinate of the solution to the system of equations is -2.

Explanation:

The system of equations are,

y=x+4 ---------------------1

3y=-2x+2 ----------------2

The solution i.e intersection of these two lines can be found out by solving the system of equations.

Putting the value of y from equation 1 in equation 2, we get

\Rightarrow 3(x+4)=-2x+2

\Rightarrow 3x+12=-2x+2

\Rightarrow 3x+2x=2-12

\Rightarrow 5x=-10

\Rightarrow x=-2

Therefore, the x-coordinate of the solution to the system of equations is -2.
