x + y = -30
x = 2/3y
2/3y + y = -30
2/3y + 3/3y = -30
5/3y = -30
y = -30 * 3/5
y = -90/5 = - 18
x = 2/3y
x = 2/3(-18)
x = - 36/3 = - 12
the 2 measurements recorded were : -18 and -12
