The ratio of girls to boys in a swimming club was 2: 4. There were 14 girls. How many total members were there in the club?

There are twice as many boys as girls. If the number of girls is 14, then there are 28 boys.

To find the total, just add: 14 + 28 = 42

That means 42 people in total.

let x be the number of boys
2/4 = 14/x
2x = 56
x=28

28 boys+ 14 girls= 42 club members
