a rectangular room is three times as long as it is wide and it's perimeter is 64 meters. find the width of the room

length = 3x
width = x
perimeter = 2* (3x+x)
equation:
2*(3x+x)=64
2*4x=64
8x=64
x=64/8 = 8 (thats width in meters)
