a snail moves at a speed of 2.394 inches per minute . If the snail keeps moving at this rate, about how many inches will it travel in 7.489

(2.394in)/(1min) * (7.489min)/(1) = 17.928666in

Or 17.93in with significant digits.


To break it down, you can set up your information as a fraction (which I did for the first fraction.) Then you want your units to cancel out, so I put the 7.489 minutes on the top of the next fraction and multiplied them. The min canceled out and left me with in, so I know I had the correct answer.

2.394 inches per minute x 7.489 minutes = 17.928666 inches.

So, about 18 inches.
