The easiest way to solve this algebraic expression is to multiply the term 4 to its next term which is (x - 4) so as to get our resultant output and coefficient of x and a constant value. Solving the equation we'll get the value of x for the given expression which is given by,

:\longrightarrow\rm{4(x - 4) - 3x = 10}

:\longrightarrow\rm{4x - 16 - 3x = 10}

Transferring (-16) to R.H.S. with 10,

:\longrightarrow\rm{4x - 3x = 10 + 16}

:\longrightarrow\rm{1x = 10 + 16}

:\longrightarrow\rm{x = 10 + 16}

:\longrightarrow\rm{x = 26}

  • Thus the value of x is 26
