The answer is
z < -4
To find the answer to an inequality, you treat it just like an equation and try to get the variable by itself. So, to do this we subtract 7 from both sides and we get z < -4

7 + z < 3
You solve this the same way you would any other algebraic expression such as..
7 + x = 3.
So, just subtract the seven from the three and you have your answer!
7 + z < 3
7 + z - 7 < 3 - 7
z < -4
