Cells are the fundamental basic units of all living organisms. A group of specialized cells results to the formation of tissues.
Therefore, tissues are specialized group cells that perform a specific function.
The main types of tissues found in animals are;
epithelial tissues, connective tissues, muscle tissues, and nervous tissues.
Epithelial tissue
is responsible for covering the surface of the body and also lines up inner body cavities. Connectives tissue are responsible for support and protection.
Nerve tissue
functions in transmission of nerve impulses and muscular tissues enhances response to environmental changes through contraction and relaxation.
