44/8 can be written as a mixed number by simply dividing 44/8.

44/8 = 5 with a remainder of 4. Your remainder goes over your original denominator. Your quotient is your whole number. So in this instance, the quotient is 5 and the remainder is 4, so that means the answer is ..

5
(4)/(8)

Which can be reduced to..

5
(1)/(2)

There you are!

Hope this helps! :)

The answer should be 5 1/2.

Just simply find the GCF of 44 and 8 then divide them 44 by 4 over 44 over 8 and u get 11/2. Now divide 11 and 2 and u get 5 with the remainder of 1, now simplify and u get 5 1/2. 5 from the sentence before this one and convert 1 to one half.
