Log4 (x+4) = 1 ?

I assume you distribute log base of four to (x+4). But I don't know how to go about it, please help!!

remember

log_ab=c means
a^c=b
so

log_4(x+4)=1 means
4^1=x+4
4=x+4
minus 4 both sides
x=0

a fun tip is
if you get
log_a(b)=1, then a=b

Log rule:
\log_a(b)=x\leftrightarrow a^x=b
By that rule,
\log_4(x+4)=1\leftrightarrow 4^1=x+4
We know that
4^1=4 so we now have
4=x+4
Subtract 4 from both sides and you get x=0.
