Y=-6x+8 is a linear equation because the x is not an exponent. It also is a straight line, not a curve (parabola) or exponential growth rate. I hope I helped! ^u^

when the highest exponent of the placeholder is 1 or 0, then it is linear

y=-6x^1+8
it's linear
