x+3y=6
4x+6y=-6
cancel out y's
multiply first equation by -2 and add to 2nd

-2x-6y=-12
4x+6y=-6 +
2x+0y=-18

2x=-18
divide by 2
x=-9

sub back
x+3y=6
-9+3y=6
add 9 both sides
3y=15
divide 3
y=5

(x,y)
(-9,5)
