simplify by distributing
distribute the - to (9x - 10) and distribute 3 to (-2x+1/3)
so x-9x +10 + 11 = 12x - 6x +1
simplify: -8x +21 = 6x + 1
put like terms on each side
20 = 14x
20/14 = 10/7 = x

Answer: x = 10 / 7

Explanation:

X - (9x - 10) + 11 = 12x + 3 (-2x + 1/3)

To simplify this, we have to first open the bracket

x - 9x +10 + 11 = 12x - 3(-2x) + 3(1/3)

x - 9x + 10 + 11 = 12x - 6x + 1

-8x + 21 = 6x + 1

We will now collect like term

(which implies 8x will move to the right hand side hence it becomes positive 8x and then 1 will move to the left hand side hence it becomes negative 1)

21 - 1 = 6x + 8x

20 = 14x

Now, we divide both-sides of the equation by 14

Hence;

(20)/(14) = (14x)/(14)

(20)/(14) = x

x =
(20)/(14)

Dividing the numerator and the denominator by 2, x becomes;

x =
(10)/(7)
