When I have a trinomial with two negatives, is the grouped factoring both negative too?

Simple...

you have:
y^(2) -7y-18

(Using the box method)

-->>>

What multiplies to -18 but adds to -7?

-9*2=-18

-9+2=-7

Leaving you with...

(y-9)(y+2)

As we can see the grouped factoring is not all negative...

Thus, your answer.
