Factor 3x^2-14x+8 ...?

since you have 3x^2 then (3x ) (x ) try to find the values for x
(3x-2) (x-4)
why -2 and -4 you ask??
check by multiplying

3x^2 - 14x + 8 = 3x^2 - 12x - 2x + 8
= 3x(x - 4) - 2(x - 4)
= (3x - 2)(x - 4)
