One archetype in A Midsummer Night's Dream is the theme of dreams. It is considered an archetype because it's a recurring theme. The dreams are linked to the bizarre and magical mishaps in the forest.

One archetype that can be found in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is: the lover.

The character of Helena is a lovesick young woman who is desperately in love with Demetrius. She is a jealous, and insecure woman and is devoted to Demetrius despite of knowing about his flaws.

When Demetrius choses Hermia she devices a plan to break them up by telling him about the plan of Lysander and Hermia to elope into the forest.
