y=2x+40 since Monday and wednesday had the same minutes Is 2x and the just add 30 for the minutes in friday

x + x + 30 = how much television you watch every week.
This simplifies to 2x+30.
Because we know that 30 minutes on Friday is a given, 30 is a constant whereas the x is an unknown number of minutes watched every Monday and Wednesday.
