Neuro means brain, and prosthetic is a part or a stimulator. So basically a neuroprosthetic device is a part that implanted in there brain to act as a part, or to stimulate a certain part of the brain to complete functions.

The device detects electrical activity in the motor cortex of the brain.

The device transmits the electrical signals to a series of computers.

The computers translate the signals and produce an output that controls the movements of the prosthesis.
