(1)/(5)+(1)/(7)=\text{ }(12)/(35)

Here, we want to add the fractions

To do this, we will need to get the lowest common multiple of the denominators

Here, we want to get the LCM of 5 and 7

The LCM of both is 35

We then divide the LCM by each of the denomiantors after which we multiply by the numerator of each before adding

We have this as;

(1)/(5)+(1)/(7)\text{ = }(5+7)/(35)=\text{ }(12)/(35)
