Each board = 5 and 3/4 feet.

The 24 boards would be: 24 * 5 and 3/4

5 and 3/4 to mixed fraction = (5*4 +3)/4 = 23/4

The total length of the 24 boards = 24 * 23/4 = 23*6 = 138 feet.

The cost is $1.65 per foot.

138 feet = 138*1.65 = 227.70

Total cost =$227.70

Hope this helped.

well, we know the amount per foot of wood $1.65. each piece is 5 3/4 (which is also 5.75) ft, so multiply these two number to see how much each piece costs.
1.65×5.75=9.4875
now to know how much total, we need to multiply by 24 (since we have 24 pieces)
9.4875×24=227.70
So, he spent $227.70 for the wood
