2000=400+1/6x
subtract 400 from each side..... 400-400 cancels out....2000-400=1600
1600=1/6x
multiply by recipricol, 1600*6/1= 9600........1/6*6/1 cancels out
9600=x
You must sell $9600 worth of stuff to earn $2000.
