Answer:

1. A.

2. D.

3. C.

4. E.

5. B.

Step-by-step explanation:

Options are:

1) UCS

2) UCR

3) CS

4) CR

5) NS

A) Shot

B) Sticker (Before the Conditioning)

C) Sticker (After the Conditioning)

D) Screaming in Pain

E) Scream

1) UCS

UCS stands refers to Unconditioned Stimulus, which is the stimulus that naturally and automatically triggers a response, without any type conditioning. In the given situation, an unconditioned stimulus refers to the shots the doctor gave to Jaiden, which make him cry.

2) UCR

UCR is Unconditioned Response, which refers to the naturally, and automatically response to an UCS. In this context, crying in pain is the UCR, because that is the response to the unconditioned stimulus of hurting Jaiden with shots.

3) CS

CS is Conditioned Stimulus, is the stimulus learned by the child, in first place, he didn't react to it, but after feeling the stimulus, now he always react to it. The conditioned stimulus is the sticker after the conditioning, that is, before the shots. In first place Jaiden didn't know anything, but after the doctor gave him a sticker, he was excited to go back again because of the sticker, but before the sticker he didn't realise about anything.

4) CR

Conditioned Response, constitute the response to the conditioned stimulus. In this case, the conditioned response is Scream, because it's the reaction to the sticker after the conditioning.

5) NS

NS is the neutral stimulus, it's placed before the conditioning. The neutral stimulus is associated with the conditioned stimulus after the process. In this case, the neutral stimulus is the sticker before the conditioning. After the conditioning, the neutral stimulus was associated with the conditioned stimulus, which triggered the conditioned response, and the process repeats over and over again.
