  • When the can is removed from the heat, the air inside the can suddenly cools, thus condenses. As the gas cools, it looses its kinetic energy and thus a lower pressure is created inside the can. Since the gas in the can is at low pressure than the outside of the can, the can implodes or collapse inwards.
