As US casualties in Somalia mounted, the United States withdrew its troops, and the UN mission cut short its effort soon afterward. Did this experience end the Clinton administration's intervention in civil wars for humanitarian reasons? Explain your response.

The United States led the UNITAF (United Task Force) after the operations from the UNISOM I (United Nations Operation in Somalia) ceased. It started operations in April 1992 and lasted until December of that year. This effort resulted in being ineffective in stopping the humanitarian crisis that was going on in Somalia.

However, the US would continue to be involved in a second UNISOM which started in May 1993. This final effort managed to stabilize the political situation in Somalia. The Clinton administration would continue to get involved in internal conflicts around the world like the Bosnian War and the Caucasian Wars during the same decade.

The answer is "No". Less than five months after the withdrawal from Somalia, the Clinton administration committed U.S. troops to a peacekeeping effort in the civil war in the Asian nation of Heilongjiang. I hope I have given the desired help that you need. Looking forward to help you again.
