-2x - 4 > 8 solve for x

So I think you need to get x on one side of the equation by itself. You start by adding 4 to both sides.

-2x - 4 > 8

+4 +4

-2x > 12

Now we divide both sides by -2 because of that's the coefficient in front of x


-2x/-2 > 12/-2

Now we have our answer: x > -6
