If you have a friend and you are concerned about their mental health the best thing you can do to help is to talk to them and offer to take them to see a counselor. Do not judge or make inappropriate comments, do not make fun of them, do not ignore them and do not give them unhelpful or hurtful advice. Be supportive and understanding and listen to them. If they decide they want to talk to someone professionally then offer to take them and be there for them.
