So first, add the whole numbers. In this case, it is 3+4=7.
Now, add the 3/4 to the 1/4. 3/4 + 1/4 = 4/4
4/4 is the same as 1. So we add this new number to the whole numbers.
7 + 1 = 8. So, our final answer is 8 feet.
