Answer: To find the cost per pound of coffee, we need to divide the total cost by the total weight.

Given that Mckenzie bought 1.2 pounds of coffee for $11.82, we can divide the total cost ($11.82) by the total weight (1.2 pounds).

So, the cost per pound of coffee is:

$11.82 ÷ 1.2 pounds = $9.85 per pound

Therefore, the cost of coffee per pound is $9.85.

first you divide 1.2 by its self because you need to get 1 pound. 1.2 / 1.2 = 1
now that you have one pound, you divide 11.82 by 1.2 = 9.85
