Let the given function is,


y= ab^x

where a is the multiplicative rate of change.

Since by the table,

If x=1, y=0.25

That is,
0.25 = ab^1

⇒ab= 0.25 ------ (1)

Again By the table if x= 2 y= 0.125


0.125 = ab^2

⇒(ab)b=0.125⇒b=0.125/ab=0.125/0.25=0.5

b=0.5

Thus, after putting this value in equation 1) we get, a=0.5

Thus, the multiplicative rate of change for this function is 0.5.
