Let the width be w, then the length is 2w + 5
Perimeter = 2(length + width)
34 = 2(2w + 5 + w) = 2(3w + 5)
3w + 5 = 34/2 = 17
3w = 17 - 5 = 12
w = 12/3 = 4
Therefore, the width is 4 cm and the length is 2(4) + 5 = 8 + 5 = 13 cm.
