Although England won the French and Indian War, why did it appear that the American Colonies were bigger winners than England itself?

England had a huge debt while colonies had much smaller war debts and were able to collect the taxes to pay them.

England has a massive war debt while the colonies had much smaller war debts, plus they just could collect taxes to pay them. They were also no longer a French threat, opening the opportunity for westward expansion.
