y - current value of the car;
A - original cost;
t -time in years;
r - rate of depreciation;
r = 10% = 0.1
y = A ( 1 - r ) ^t
1/2 A = A ( 1 - 0.1 ) ^t / : A
0.5 = 0.9 ^ t

t = log_(0.9)0.5
t = 6.5
Answer: The car is approximately 6.5 years old.
