Subtitute a = b + 1 to a + b = 1.1
b + 1 + b = 1.1
2b + 1 = 1.1 |subtract 1 from both sides
2b = 0.1 |divide both sides by 2
b = 0.05
Subtitute the value of b to a = b + 1
a = 0.05 + 1 = 1.05
Answer:
a = 1.05 and b = 0.05
