What is the slope of a line parallel to the line whose equation is x+2y=10

Answer: slope =

-1/2

Explanation:

Since they are parallel, they will never intersect. The only way this is possible is if they have the same slope. All you had to do was get y by itself and find the number next to the x. Subtract the ten and the 2y and pass them to their opposite sides that way it will be x-10= -2y. After that, divide the -2 by everything on the x side. The final equation is -1/2x -10= y.
