Which is an example of an "I message"?

Question 1 options:

I feel frustrated when you show up late because I feel that you don't respect my time. Will you please make an effort to be on time this week?

I know you are tired because you work all the time, but it is our shared responsibility to do the dishes. Can you start doing the dishes at least half of the time?

I see that you're making more of an effort to follow through on your promises, but I still don't know if I can trust you. Can you give me more time to see if your behavior really changes?

I believe you when you tell me you are my best friend, but true friendship is defined by our actions. Can you start acting like a true friend?

the first one is the better choice. It is putting all emphasis on the self.

An example of an "I message" is the first one - "I feel frustrated when you shop up late because I feel that you don't respect my time. Will you please make an effort to be on time this week? This is the basic pattern of how 'I messages' get sent across - they mostly talk about you and everything within that message has to revolve around you.
