A 40kg box is pulled 100m by a tension force of 200newtons at a 30° angle with the horizontal to the right. While the block is being pulled a friction force of 80 newtons is opposing the motion. Calculate the work done on the box by the forces.

Mass = 40 kg

distance = 100 m

Force = 200 N

angle = 30°

Friction force = 80 N

Force = 200 x cos 30

= 200 x 0.87

= 173.2 N

Net force = 173.2 - 80

= 93.2 N

Work = Force x distance

Work = 93.2 x 100

Work = 9320.5 Joules
