Answer:

You want to know what it is? I don't understand the question but here you go ig. Gave you every possible answer and example. Your Welcome. :)

1. Osmosis is a process by which molecules of a solvent tend to pass through a semipermeable membrane from a less concentrated solution into a more concentrated one, thus equalizing the concentrations on each side of the membrane.

2. Osmosis is the movement of a solvent (such as water) through a semipermeable membrane (as of a living cell) into a solution of higher solute concentration that tends to equalize the concentrations of solute on the two sides of the membrane.

3. Osmosis is the spontaneous passage or diffusion of water or other solvents through a semipermeable membrane (one that blocks the passage of dissolved substances—i.e., solutes). The process, important in biology, was first thoroughly studied in 1877 by a German plant physiologist, Wilhelm Pfeffer.

4. Osmosis can be defined as the spontaneous movement of solvent molecules through a semi-permeable membrane from a lower-concentration solution to a higher-concentration solution.

5. Examples of Osmosis: The absorption of water by plant roots from the soil. The guard cells of a plant cell are affected by osmosis. When a plant cell is filled with water the guard cells swell up for the stomata to open and let out excess water.

6. To better explain what osmosis is, here a few very good examples of osmosis that we encounter in everyday life.

Fish Absorb Water Through Their Skin and Gills.

Red Blood Cells Placed Into Freshwater.

Salt on Slugs.

Plants Absorb Water From The Soil.

Potato In Sugar Solution.

Raisin In Water.

Osmosis is same as Diffusion.Diffusion is the movement of molecules of any element from higher to lower concentration but Osmosis is that diffusion in which water molecules move from higher to lower concentration through a Semi permeable membrane.
