14(x-3)-22x=-18
Multiply the number outside of the parenthesis with the numbers inside the parenthesis
14x-42-22x=-18
Subtract 22x from 14x
-8x-42=-18
Add 42 to -18
-8x=24
Divide -8 on both sides
Final Answer: x= -3
