3 - (3x - 1) = 2(x + 3) - 1
3 - 3x + 1 = 2x + 6 - 1
-3x + 4 = 2x + 5
-3x - 2x = 5 - 4
-5x = 1
x = -1/5

(3-(3x-1))=2(x+3)-1
distribute
3-3x+1=2x+6-1
combine like terms
-3x+4=2x+5
add 3x both sides
4=5x+5
minus 5 both sides
-1=5x
divide 5 both sides
-1/5=x
