(6x + 1) / 7 = (18x - 2) / 14
cross multiply like u do with every proportion
(7)(18x - 2) = (14)(6x + 1) =
126x - 14 = 84x + 14
126x - 84x = 14 + 14
42x = 28
x = 28/42
x = 2/3

Answer:

c) 2/3

Explanation:

The given proportion is

(6x+1)/(7)=(18x-2)/(14)

\mathrm{Apply\:fraction\:cross\:multiply:\:if\:}(a)/(b)=(c)/(d)\mathrm{\:then\:}a\cdot \:d=b\cdot \:c\\\\\left(6x+1\right)\cdot \:14=7\left(18x-2\right)\\\\84x+14=126x-14

Now subtract 14 to both sides

84x+14-14=126x-14-14

On simplifying

84x=126x-28\\\\42x=-28

Now, divide both sides by 42

x=(-28)/(42)\\\\x=(2)/(3)

Thus, the value of x is 2/3

c is the correct option.
