4+|7-m|=5
|7-m|=5-4
|7-m|=1
7-m=1 or 7-m=-1
-m=1-7 -m=-1-7
-m=-6 -m=-8
m=6 m=8

Good morning....

I am glad to help you

4 + |7-m| = 5
I will change them side so i can be more comfortable
|-m + 7| + 4 = 5
|-m + 7| = 5 - 4
|-m +7 | = 1
Now let's solve the absolute value
We know, either -m + 7 = 1 or -m +7 = -1
There 2 possibilities, so lets solve the first possibility
-m + 7 = 1
-m = 1 -7
-m = -6
Divide both sides by -1
-m/-1 = -6/-1
m = 6(That's the answer for possibility 1)
Now let's solve for possibility 2

-m + 7 = -1
-m = -1 - 7
-m = -8
Divide both sides by -1
-m/-1 = -8/-1
m= 8 (That's the answer for possibility 2)

Final answer : m= 6 or m=8

I hope that's help, if you have any questions about my answer please let me know.
