You need to cut ten wood planks that are the same size. You measure and cut the first plank. You cut the second piece, using the first plank as a guide. The first plank is put aside and the second plank is used to cut a third plank. You follow this pattern for the rest of the planks. Is the last plank the same length as the first plank? Explain.

no, because as you go, the pencil lines go around the plank instead of exactly where the edge stops. if you do that for all the planks, then the last will be slightly bigger than the first.
