The two crews met 6256.5 feet from the South Padre Island side of the bridge approximately 2.5 years after construction began. a. Suppose the South Padre Island crew built an average of 208.5 feet per month. Together the two crew's built 12,513 feet of bridge. The South Padre island crew built an average of 208.5 feet per month, which means that in 2.5 years ( or 30 months ) this crew built

208.5(ft)/(m)*30m=6255ft

6255 feet of the bridge.

We are told that the two crews together built 12,513 feet of bridges. Meaning Port Isabel crew built

12,513ft-6255ft=6258ft

6258 feet of the bridge.

(a).

Port Isabel crew built

(6258ft)/(30m)=208.6(ft)/(m)

(b). Port Isabel crew built 6258 feet while South Padre crew built 6255 feet of the bridge.
