What role did disease play in encounters between native group and the first brittishh settlements

The first British settlers brought diseases from England and Europe that the native Americans were not immune to and these diseases caused many of the native Americans to die and also most of the settlers sooner than later got infected with the viruses and died making life as a settler very difficult not just to colonize but also to keep from getting sick and dying.

well disease spread out to the native groups, causing them to die, which i think let the British get the land. they wanted to take over land and let the people transfer to christianity. but unfortunately most died so yeah.
