The greatest possible product is what you get when both numbers are
as big as they can be.
The greatest possible 3-digit number is 999 .
The greatest possible 1-digit number is 9 .
Their product is (999 x 9) =
8,991 .

To figure this out, we must multiply the highest 3 digit number and the highest 1 digit number together.
9 is the highest 1 digit number.
999 is the highest 3 digit number.
999 × 9 = 8991
The greatest possible product is
8,991
.
