x + 3/2 = x - 1/5
We multiply both sides of the equation by the LCM which is 10
10 × x + 3/2 = 10 × x - 1/5
5 (x + 3) = 2 (x - 1)
We expand the brackets
5x + 15 = 2x - 2
5x - 2x = -2 -15
3x = -17
x = -17/3
Therefore x = -17/3
