The lines m and n are parallel. So, angle given by 46° and (6x-2)° forms an alternate pair of angles.

Since alternate angles are equal, we can write

\begin{gathered} 46=(6x-2) \\ 46+2=6x \\ 48=6x \\ (48)/(6)=x \\ 8=x \end{gathered}

So, the value of x is 8.
