Given: Room dimensions length=24 feet and width= 19 feet.

Height= 7 foot.

To find: How many Gallons of paint will it take to the paint the room.

Step-by-step explanation:

The walls along with ceilings will be painted.

The total are to be painted will be area of the four walls.

The area of the walls will be the lateral surafce area of the rectangle.

The area of the four walls will be

A= 2x(lxb)+2x(bxh).

Substitute the values l=24, b=19 and h=7 to get:

\begin{gathered} A=2*(24*7)+2*(19*7) \\ =336+266 \\ =602 \end{gathered}

The lateral suface area is 602 sq. feet.

We know 1 gallon can coat 450 square feet.

and we need to paint the surface twice so total area to piant will become

P=2x602=1204 square feet.

The total paint required will be:

\begin{gathered} P=(1204)/(450) \\ =2.675 \end{gathered}

We are getting 2.675 rounding it off to nearest whole number we get 3 gallons of paint.
